Background
I wanted to make an ad for a prediction market app similar to Kalshi or other brands. With mine I wanted to push the absurdness of what you can bet on. Where on Kalshi you can bet on the weather and world events, with my app you can bet on your life and even your own friends downfalls. This way pointing a light on the questionable morals of an already questionable industry.

This was a great project, and though I am very happy with how it came out. I am even more thrilled with the amount of new tools and effects I got to mess around with on this one. I had to download a 3D phone model for many of the scenes. This taught me how to work with 3D files in After Effects as well as working with 2D elements along side 3D files. I am far from mastering them, but this project also pushed me further than I have ever gone using track mattes. many of the transitions are split between one frame and many times I had to hide or show different elements using moving mattes. Theses two elements together were a great challenge, and something that pushed me more than any other project when it comes trial and error in my workflow

Process
I struggled a bit on this part. You need to balance a lot while making an advertisement already. You must show branding, sell a product, visually hook the viewer, and tell them why they must buy into your idea all in 30 seconds. Add satire and parody elements, now you have a lot to work on. In the end I feel like I did a good job but could have worked on this for months and still would have more to do each and every day. Some ways I worked these parody moments into my add were with the pop ups, literally throwing the words “Consume” and “Buy Buy Buy” onto the viewer. The name “Mammon” itself is one of these elements, as Mammon is the name of a demon, specifically one associated with greed, overconsumption, and material gain.
